10-23-2014 – City of West Hollywood, California, – Los Angeles County Firefighters first on scene at La Brea Boulevard and Fountain Avenue reported a one story strip mall with smoke showing. West Hollywood Sheriffs were reportedly first on scene calling in the fire that may have came in as a burglary alarm. Firefighters quickly realized that they had an attic fire. They then ventilated the one occupancy, “High Voltage Tattoo,” Kat Von D’s Tattoo Parlor, thus preventing the fire in the rear of the occupancy from spreading to the rest of the building. There were no reported injuries, the main bulk of fire was knocked down in approximately 30 minutes. LAFD and Beverly Hills Fire responded and assisted on scene. All the occupancies in the building suffered smoke damage. Several of the shops reportedly carried collectable Hollywood memorabilia. The cause of the 4 AM blaze is under investigation.
